Custom drawer systems for Troopies, vans and 4x4s
Drawers built to your millimetres
Set your sizes and send them through. We turn your configuration into a firm quote, then draw the system around your confirmed vehicle details and the layout you approve. CNC cut in our Brooklyn workshop, assembled free when you pick up local.
The drawing board
Set your sizes, watch it draw
Move the sliders until it looks like your vehicle. Rough is fine. Send it through and we call you back with a firm quote, answers to your questions, or a fully custom design if the sliders don't cut it.
The launch deal
Pick it up, we assemble it free
We are launching custom drawer systems and we want your vehicle in our Brooklyn workshop. So for the launch run, locals get the good stuff thrown in.
Choose local pickup and we assemble your entire system at no charge, then test fit it in your vehicle before you drive out. A test fit is a fit check, not a permanent install. Want it bolted in? We quote the fit separately. You bring the car, we do the rest.
Not sure about your sizes? Drive in and we measure your vehicle for you, no tape required. Your build gets drawn from real numbers, not guesses.
How it works
From your numbers to your boot
Configure
Set your envelope and layout on the drawing board above and send it through. Rough is fine at this stage. We get your actual numbers, not a description of them.
Firm quote
Our CAD team prices the build from the real cut list and sends you a firm quote with our custom order terms. Nothing is owed until you accept it.
Deposit and design
Your deposit starts the final design and reserves your build slot. It does not approve cutting. We draw the system around your confirmed vehicle details.
You approve the drawing
You approve a dimensioned drawing by its revision number, not a description. Nothing gets cut until the revision you approved matches the file on the machine.
Cut and built
CNC cut in Brooklyn, dry-fitted before it leaves. Assembled free when you pick up local, or flat-packed and shipped Australia-wide.
Proof, not promises
Same workshop, same standards
We had a great experience building our Troopy cabinets as well as fitting some electrical bits and pieces with Unwind Designs. Our project was done in good timing and with superb execution and results.
Art and Ania, workshop buildJust wanted to give a shout out to a talented and wonderful young fella who installed the rear fit out to my old 75 series. It has exceeded all my expectations!
Michael D, 75 Series rear fitoutUnwind Designs have been phenomenal to work with. We went with the Troopy flat pack and the quality is fantastic!
RebeccaGood questions
Before you send it through
What will mine actually cost?
The number on the drawing board is an indicative range, not a quote, and it excludes freight. It moves with your sizes so you can see roughly where you land. Your firm price comes from the real cut list once our CAD team has drawn your build, with freight calculated once the design is finalised, and it can move either way. Nothing is owed before you see it.
Do I need exact measurements?
No. Get close on the drawing board and send it through. We confirm the details that matter with you before the final design, and nothing is cut until you approve the final dimensioned drawing. If you are in Melbourne, drive in and we measure your vehicle for you, free.
What is it made from?
Birch plywood, CNC cut in our Brooklyn workshop, with full-extension drawer slides matched to your drawer sizes. The same materials and machines behind our Troopy kits.
What does freight cost?
Freight is not included in the estimate on the drawing board. It is calculated once your design is finalised, because the cost depends on the size of your system and where it is going, and it is quoted to you before you pay anything. Or skip it entirely: pick up from Brooklyn VIC and we assemble the whole system for you at no charge.
How long does it take?
You get a firm quote within one business day, and a build slot with a real timeline when you approve the drawings. No open-ended jobs.
Can it fit my fridge?
Yes. Pick a fridge bay on the drawing board and tell us your fridge model in the notes, we size the bay and the runner around it.
What vehicles do you build for?
Troopcarriers, 79 and 76 Series LandCruisers, HiAce and other vans, utes and most 4x4s. If it has a boot, tray or cargo area, we can draw for it.
Can you fit it for me?
Yes. We fit drawer systems in our Brooklyn workshop, on their own or as part of a bigger build. Say so in the notes and we will price the fit alongside the drawers. Not in Melbourne? It arrives flat packed and labelled, or assembled if you can collect it.
What is the difference between flat pack, assembled and installed?
Four different things, and your quote names which one you are getting. Flat pack is panels, hardware and instructions for you to assemble and fit. Pre-assembled collection means we build it before you collect it, but it is not permanently installed. A test fit is a physical fit check only, not permanent mounting and not any kind of engineering or compliance certification. Installed means we permanently fit it, to the scope written in your quote.
What happens after I send my sizes?
You get a call or an email within one business day with a firm price and a lead time. No deposit until you receive and accept that firm quote. Your deposit then starts the final design and reserves your build slot. Nothing gets cut until you approve the final dimensioned drawings.
What am I agreeing to?
Your firm quote names our custom order terms by version, and you can read them in full before you pay anything: Unwind DRS Custom Order Terms. They cover the deposit, drawing approval, changes, cancellation and delivery. Nothing in them takes away your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
